Int'l Development - Solar Power Fund

Help provide children with renewable power at their schools, homes and communities

The schools, clinics and communities served by COTN do not have consistent power sources. Often they must resort to using a costly generator for power or go without. When the school generator runs out of fuel, the children's lessons are cut short. Solar power is a clean, reliable energy source that will provide power for the schools, clinics and community centers for years.

Angelina Was Homeless, But You Are Sending Her to College

Angelina knew she would have to work hard to achieve her dreams. She was born in Altagracia, an impoverished batey in the Dominican Republic. A batey is a shantytown originally built for migrant sugarcane workers. Within the batey, Angelina lived with her mother and seven siblings in a tiny house.

Many children in Haiti don’t have a place to go to learn about the Bible. Their churches don’t have a children’s program or pastors trained in ministering to children. Children whose parents aren’t Christians, like many children in our program, have no one to turn to for spiritual guidance and support.

Ernesto, a Dominican man serving as a missionary in Haiti, can be that support. He has special training in children’s ministry and teaching the Bible. He assists with the spiritual care curriculum of the afterschool program and helps local churches grow their children’s ministries.

Emergency Medical Care for Children in Need

Visibility :

Your generous gift today will help a sick child like Amidu.

Amidu was brought to Children of the Nations’ Sierra Leone clinic with a dangerously high fever, vomiting and weak.

Tests revealed a familiar enemy: malaria.

Malaria causes fever and flu-like symptoms. Without treatment, it can lead to seizures, organ failure, and even death—and children, like Amidu, are particularly at risk.

Malaria is treatable. But it’s hard for a child living in poverty to get the medical care they need.
