COTN Teams Up with Major League Baseball Player Adrián Beltré

Arlington, Texas – September 25, 2014 – Texas Rangers all-star third baseman Adrián Beltré has teamed up with Children of the Nations (COTN) to help fund a baseball outreach program in the Dominican Republic.

The Rangers have nominated Beltré for Major League Baseball’s Roberto Clemente Award presented by Chevrolet, which recognizes the player who best exemplifies a spirit of giving and of helping others. The team will hold a special ceremony Friday before their 7 p.m. game, to honor Beltré and the charity of his choice. Beltré has selected COTN’s I Love Baseball program to receive the donation that comes with his nomination.

COTN’s I Love Baseball program provides impoverished Dominican youths with expert baseball training, an education, material resources, and a greater vision for themselves through mentorship and community service. Beltré, the Rangers’ leading hitter this season, has been a strong supporter of the I Love Baseball program over the past two years.

Each Major League Baseball team has nominated one player for the Roberto Clemente Award. Fans may vote for their favorite player by visiting ChevyBaseball.com between now and October 6. The winner will be announced during the World Series.
