San Diego Church Raises $220,000 for Children of the Nations

Silverdale, WA – April 27, 2011 – Long-time Children of the Nations (COTN) partner Flood Church of San Diego, CA, recently raised $219,991.12 for COTN’s ministry in Haiti. Members of the church raised the entire sum during a four-week period following Flood Pastor Matt Hammett’s March visit to Haiti with COTN Founder Chris Clark. The goal Flood originally set for the campaign was $100,000.

Children of the Nations’ initial focus in Haiti is to establish a Village Partnership Program that will provide holistic care for orphaned and destitute children. Such a program will include a medical clinic, school facilities, nutrition program, ministry center, and more. Child sponsorship will play a key role in the program’s funding. Initial efforts will also include establishing COTN–Haiti as a legal non-governmental organization, purchasing land on which to build our facilities, and hiring staff (Country Coordinator, School Principal/Director, and Village Partnership Coordinator).
