Full-Time Care to Begin in Uganda

10/30/07

Last month we entered the final stage prior to opening the doors of our first Children’s Home in Uganda. We are awaiting final sign-off from the government! Meanwhile, we are interviewing and hiring necessary staff (house parents, cooks, etc.) and furnishing our homes, readying them for our children. Over the summer, COTN–Uganda counselors interviewed hundreds of children in nearby IDP camps (refugee camps for internally displaced people) in an attempt to identify the “worst of the worst.” Our staff was able to identify twenty-one children (ages 3 – 13) we will be bringing into full-time care in our new orphan home located in Lira, Uganda. Join us in praying for them as we seek to create a family atmosphere and begin to provide for their needs.
