News: Sierra Leone

Great news! Since September, people like you have given almost $9,000 to provide mosquito nets for children in Africa and the Caribbean. 

God started his work of transformation when Henry Tower was 12 years old, and Henry remembers it perfectly. He was walking through Marjay Town, on the outskirts of Sierra Leone’s capital, with his container of kerosene on his head when he saw a boy from COTN's Children's Home. 

The photos are in from camp in Sierra Leone! Thanks to generous sponsors, children in three villages got to attend a two-day camp in their area. We also held a camp for children who live near our ministry center in Ngolala, and a youth camp for teens, at the minsitry center as well. 

Our summer interns helped lead the camps, and sent back these great photos for you. Enjoy!

To be honest, when I first signed up to sponsor a child I had never met, writing genuine and heartfelt letters was a little difficult. The only thing I knew about him was what I read on his profile. I started my letters with the basics—my family, my hobbies, and my favorite things. But I wanted Alfred to know how much I cared and loved him even though I had never met him. I started praying for Alfred often and would write him telling him that I was praying for him. Then I got an opportunity to actually meet him
