Peter Reflects on the Transformation in His Life

06/04/13

On a recent visit to Malawi, Children of the Nations (COTN) founders Chris and Debbie Clark were amazed to see how much fourteen-year-old Peter has grown, both physically and spiritually. Twelve years ago, Peter came to COTN's Children's Homes  malnourished and severely underweight.

Today, Peter wanted to write his testimony, so people like you can see the difference your care makes in a life. Here is what he wrote:

"I praise the Lord because I am fearfully and wonderfully made."  -Psalm 139:14

You know what? When I remember what has been done for me in the past, I start to cry. When I lost my mom and dad, right away I found myself in indescribable problems. I was born into a family of three boys, but as I am here today, I am the only surviving son from my family.

In my village, I was not in good shape; but Children of the Nations took me in on behalf of God. I look as I do today because I am given enough food, which I was lacking at home. So thank you! Through COTN, I am able to see a bright future for myself. God gave me the gift of intelligence, and through this organization I was selected to go to National Secondary School, which I could not have achieved if I was living in my village home.

I, Peter, was born into an Islamic family. Today, I am glad to tell you that through this organization, I am a follower of Jesus Christ, and I pray and fast, thanking him for saving my life.

I want to thank the COTN family for the wonderful work you are doing for us. When I think about the transformation in my life, I praise the Lord, because I am fearfully and wonderfully made for a purpose.
