Summer camp in Haiti was a little different this year. 
Camp was originally scheduled for July. However, when the Haitian government proposed a hike in gas prices, people started rioting. The Venture team that was going to help our staff run summer camp had to cancel their trip, and camp was postponed.

Teaching through the Life on Life children’s curriculum wasn’t a natural step for Serge Joseph, COTN’s Village Partnership Program coordinator in Haiti. When it came to Bible studies, the elementary-age children he worked with were used to hearing sermons and lectures, not sitting in groups, hearing stories, and participating in discussion or hands-on activities.

Thanks to you, COTN children around the globe were able to have Christmas parties! In Haiti, on December 22, 150 people gathered to celebrate the birth of Jesus. The party included Village Partnership Program (VPP) children, parents, volunteers, staff, and our Hands on Haiti children

In 2010, a devastating earthquake hit Haiti. COTN was already serving in the Dominican Republic. The need was right on our doorstep.

This became the beginning of COTN–Haiti and COTN’s Hands on Haiti ministry.

"I Love Soccer" Opens Big Opportunities for Children in Haiti Haiti

One common passion unites most of the world: soccer. Steven Mizecki, COTN's Global Volunteer in Haiti, decided the children in Haiti should get in on the action too, so earlier this year he created a new COTN initiative called I Love Soccer

Steven Mizecki’s life is a testimony to all that God is doing, through your love and faithful support, to raise up leaders in Africa and the Caribbean. 

Steven grew up in Malawi, in East Africa. By age seven, both his parents were dead. His grandmother struggled to care for him, so he went to live with his uncle, a pastor in the capital city of Lilongwe.
