Thank you so much for making Christmas come alive for your sponsored child—and hundreds more! Here are some photos from the Christmas celebrations in Sierra Leone.
Children ate delicious food, put on a talent show, listened to biblical teaching about the meaning of Christmas, and received gifts. Everyone had such a fun time, and it couldn’t have happened without your help!
No Christmas party would be complete without tasty food!
Children enjoyed sodas with their dinner on this special occasion.
Every child received a package filled with clothes!
Children show off their new clothes.
Children heard a message about what it means that God is with us and why Jesus is the greatest gift we could ever receive.
Children got to watch a movie about the meaning of Christmas.
Some children acted in a play called A Christmas to Believe In for their friends. Others showed off their dancing skills and recited Bible verses from memory. And everyone learned about Jesus Christ and why we celebrate his birthday.
Here’s what some of the children had to say:
John, in sixth grade, says, “I am happy because I spent the party with my brothers and sisters. I learned a lot about the birth of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is the greatest gift that the world has ever had. Jesus was born to set the whole world free from Satan.”
Massah, a university student, says, “I want to express my sincere thanks and appreciation to God, our sponsors, and Children of the Nations for making this Christmas season lively for us. . . . As for me, this Christmas season is the best. I attended the Christmas party in the Children’s Home, and I learnt a lot about the importance of celebrating this day. It should be all about Christ.”
Christmas was an amazing opportunity for your sponsored child to have fun, to celebrate Jesus, and to know that they are loved. Thank you for the great party!
