The Community Representative (CR) is responsible for the acquisition and relationships with engaged partners who represent churches, businesses, industry associations, and civic groups. The CR serves these groups to help them engage in and support strategic Children of the Nations (COTN) opportunities and initiatives. The CR reports to the Community Development Manager (CDM) and is responsible for the strategic growth of COTN programs, through churches, businesses, service clubs, and associations within a specified geographic territory. The CR is expected to meet/exceed goals, including Venture Trips, Child Sponsorship and regional funding. The CR will provide awareness to small and large audiences to promote COTN, projects, and programs. The CR will design and implement strategic plans with each organization that will complement their objectives and establish long term partnerships. Focus: Expose, educate, engage groups, mobilizing them to actively participate financially and prayerfully in achieving God’s mission for the children we serve at COTN.

  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with church partners in the Southern California region.
  • Work with the CDM to analyze and fully develop opportunities within the assigned region.
  • Develop regional ministry plans and marketing/promotional strategies for prioritized partner base.
  • Have complete knowledge of all Children of the Nation programs, projects, services, and initiatives.
  • Analyze partner data in order to present monthly and quarterly reviews.
  • Develop and coordinate strategic events throughout the year with key partners and churches.
  • Develop local church ambassadors, ensuring churches are actively participating in Venture, sponsorship, and other funding priorities.
Skills and Qualifications: 
  • Strong faith and dependence on Jesus Christ.
  • BS/BA degree strongly preferred.
  • Must be assertive, self-motivated, self-disciplined, and a self-starter.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven experience walking with churches.
  • Must be able to travel within and live in assigned region.
  • Proficiency in communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to make strategic decisions, negotiate effectively, and deliver results.
  • Must have excellent organizational and presentation skills.
  • Ability to display the highest level of personal integrity, take responsibility for personal and organizational results, and proactively develop greater ability to expand the COTN mission.
  • Must be proficient in software, including (but not limited to) Microsoft Office 365, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong commitment to uphold COTN Mission and Vision statement and standards in communications, conduct, operations, policies, and practices.
  • Demonstrated and sincere interest in all aspects of COTN's ministry.
  • Some evening and weekend work is required.
