The Human Resources Specialist will manage all documents and procedures related to HR, including 1) oversee the onboarding, annual evaluation, and exit processes, along with medical benefits 2) facilitate any necessary HR staff training, and 3) keep accurate and up-to-date personnel files in BambooHR, etc. The Human Resources Specialist will strategize with the Executive Team in developing bimonthly, quarterly and annual all-staff trainings. The trainings will be conducted to enhance the professional work environment and contribute to a safe and healthy work place culture.
  • Manage COTN’s BambooHR account; update staff reference documents, staff information and personnel files, and vacation policies as needed
  • Maintain staff personnel files with a meticulously high level of detail and organization, ensuring all pertinent documents (print and electronic) are up-to-date, stored, and/or archived according to federal guidelines
  • Manage employees’ health benefits information and create reports for enrollment periods (Oct/Nov) for Health Brokers
  • Maintain and/or edit Employee Handbook and other documents related to administration
  • Oversee and administer the hiring, onboarding, and exit processes
  • Complete the federal government’s Affordable Care Act reporting each year
  • Oversee annual employee goal-setting and evaluation process, ensuring each Director/Managers are on target for due dates
  • Maintain organization’s holidays list, employee’s vacations/time off and in-country trips, etc. are up to date, consistent and documented
  • Facilitate staff training as needed related to HR (Employee Handbook, updated policies and procedures, risk management, harassment prevention, conflict resolution, homecoming, etc.) bi-monthly, quarterly, and annually
  • Develop, create and manage HR related SOPs and update existing HR SOPs that require revisions
  • Provide support and encouragement for all employees
  • Provide reports on anniversaries, birthdays, etc. as requested
  • Ensure all staff are following the guidelines and policies as detailed in the Employee Handbook
  • Provide support and complete HR assignments as needed for supervisor
Skills and Qualifications: 
  • 1-2 years experience in Human Resources
  • 1-2 years experience in Customer Service
  • B.A. degree in HR, communications, business or related field
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of professionalism
  • Understands and respects confidentiality
  • Experience in public speaking
  • Proactive and self-motivated
