A part of our Venture Program

By participating with a Venture Team, you will be strategically partnering with Children of the Nations (COTN) in-country staff in our vision to raise children who transform nations. Groups of any size may travel to Africa and the Caribbean to meet our children, participate in projects, and become an integral part of what God is doing through Children of the Nations.

There are two ways to participate with a Venture Team:

Start A Team — Become A Team Leader
You can start your own Venture Team by applying to serve as a Team Leader and gathering a group of people from your church and/or community to form a Venture Team to serve in one of the countries in which COTN serves (Dominican Republic, Haiti, Malawi, Sierra Leone, or Uganda).

Step 1: Log in or Create your COTNI account.

Step 2: Complete an inquiry form.

Step 3: Wait to be contacted by a staff person.

Join A Team — Become A Team Member (Find a Team)
You can join a COTN Venture Team as a Team Member on a scheduled trip with an existing COTN team or a team leaving from your church or community. COTN will connect you with a Team Leader who will consider your application and help you prepare for the trip. As a Team Member, you are responsible for interacting with your Team Leader to receive training materials, and you are required to attend scheduled team meetings.

Venture Teams use their knowledge and unique experience to partner with our in-country staff in serving our children and their communities.  Below are our eight types of Venture Trips:

Children of the Nations desires to raise each child with the knowledge that God created them and has a wonderful plan for their lives. Participate in a team project that focuses on evangelism, discipleship, pastoral training, youth ministry, children’s ministry, and more.

Participate in an education team or project that equips and empowers children to become the leaders of tomorrow.  Take part in training and mentoring of local teachers, provide curriculum, and teach strategies and techniques that will strengthen and improve education practices for the children and their educators.

Provide medical care, dental care, trauma counseling, and/or health education to children and adults, imparting healthy habits, proper hygiene techniques, and positive lifestyle choices that will aid in the progress of overcoming the cycle of poverty and disease and can be passed on for generations to come.

Work on a construction project that allows COTN to provide safe and reliable children’s homes, medical clinics, schools, community centers, and other facilities.  Whether you’re a professional in a construction field or you just have a little bit of experience, you can take part in building and maintaining structures that will improve the children’s quality of life.

Learn about our in-country programs firsthand and experience how COTN is raising children who will transform nations.  Meet COTN staff, visit schools and clinics, and ask questions with the intention of discovering how you can partner with COTN in our mission.

I Love Baseball®
Participate in a team or project that connects with our I Love Baseball program in the Dominican Republic. Bring a baseball team or baseball fanatics to practice with the players or teach new skills, teach nutrition or sports medicine, or simply build relationships that will last a lifetime. Learn about the role of baseball in young men's lives and how COTN is developing leaders through this unique ministry.

Participate in a team project that focuses on providing sustainable development initiatives like clean water, agriculture, renewable energy, or micro-enterprise opportunities. Transformation of a child's life and a country must include giving communities the tools and resources that allow them to thrive in the long term. Through a Sustain trip, you can be a part of this transformation.

Visit Your Child
Visiting your child can be an exciting and encouraging experience for both you and your sponsored child. We greatly encourage building relationships within the COTN family. This trip will offer you the opportunity to meet, face-to-face, the child you sponsor, to meet the in-country staff who are faithfully raising these children, and to become part of a global movement of people who are committed to partnering with these in-country staff. Our wish is that our COTN family would become your family and their needs become your needs. True transformation requires a movement of people just like you.
