Program Description:
The Anai-Okii Village Partnership Program includes several villages near the Children of the Nations ministry center in Uganda. Many of the children and families in this area were uprooted and traumatized during a two-decade civil war that ravaged Uganda. This community is mostly impoverished families practicing subsistence farming for survival. Those who are able to rent land to farm do so. The rest work on neighboring farms, earning as little as one dollar a day. The majority of people here are from pagan, Catholic, or Anglican backgrounds. Christianity coexists with traditional African practices, and Muslims make up a minority. Children of the Nations officially launched a Village Partnership with Anai-Okii and the surrounding communities in 2010, shortly after partners helped construct our ministry site nearby. This site includes the Uganda Children’s Homes, a school, an office, and farmland. Thanks to sponsors like you, children in Anai-Okii and the surrounding villages now have access to the COTN school, medical care, nutrition, and other much-needed resources. Through the care of sponsors like you, we seek to provide the children of Anai-Okii with the resources and care they need to become well-rounded individuals. By equipping these children and their caregivers with tools for success, they will grow up to create positive change in their communities and ultimately their nation.
