Currently, we are renting office space in Lira, Uganda, about a twenty-minute drive from our Children’s Homes and Village Partnership Program (VPP) in Anai-Okii. The roads are rough and the trip from the offices to the Children’s Homes is taxing on our vehicles.

(SL) Banta Campus: Solar Lighting for Children's Homes

Project Country:
Sierra Leone

The Banta Children’s Village in Sierra Leone currently operates on gas-powered generators for a few hours a night.

Having solar power would be a clean, cost-effective way to provide light for the children in the evenings, allowing them to study or take part in other activities. As funding allows, we hope to install solar panels at the Children’s Village to achieve this.

This project has been funded! Thank you!

With our Banta Farm producing more and more food, and our partners in the United States packaging meals to send to our children, God has blessed us with a bounty of food in Sierra Leone.

By building a place to store this food, you will be helping to provide for the nutritional needs of our children and others in the Banta area.

The Goal: Efficient Transportation
It is essential to have a working vehicle at Children of the Nations’ Banta Ministry Center at all times to ensure the safety of our children, and for basic transportation needs like transporting food supplies from town, picking up Venture Teams, transporting children to exams at other schools, or rushing children to the hospital in emergencies. Our goal is to complete all these tasks in the most efficient way, to free up resources and time that can be invested more directly in the children.

Pig

Pig
$35.00

Farm animals like pigs are highly valuable in African villages.

One sow can produce about 20 piglets a year. Within six months, those babies can grow to weigh up to 200 pounds each!

These pigs can supply necessary protein for many growing children, or they can be sold to generate income for a family.

There are so many ways that pigs can benefit children and their families!

How many pigs will you give today?

Gift catalog purchases come with a free COTN card, which you can print and send to your friends and family.

Chickens

Chickens
$25.00

Give two chickens and help a family jumpstart their own small animal farm!

Chickens, like other farm animals, are some of the most valuable gifts you can give to a child in Africa or the Caribbean.

Chickens are a staple source of protein in these regions. They require very little food and space to grow.

Chicken eggs are another excellent source of protein, and they can be eaten or sold. Fertilized eggs hatch into more chicks, making this a self-renewing resource.

Goat

Goat
$78.00
Farm animals like goats are extremely valuable gifts in Africa. In an African village where children lack food and income, a goat can help generate both!

Goats flourish in harsh environments. Giving a goat to a family in need provides them with easily digestible milk, and even manure fertilizes crops.

When you give a goat, a child’s family benefits in so many ways!

Give a goat (or two, or three!) today.
