Andrew’s Story: “I No Longer Cry at Night but Sing Psalms in My Heart”

Andrew vividly remembers his life before COTN: “I could see my mom toiling hard for us, and this would break my heart because I knew she will not go far like that with us. And somehow, I wanted to join hands with her and help her do anything, even if it made no sense, but [I] just wanted to show her that it would be well with us. Yet at night, I would get in bed and weep so bitterly about myself and my sister’s future.”

Sustainability is a buzz word these days, but what does it really mean? Meet our new Director of Sustainable Practices, Cheryl Cuthbertson. Children of the Nations (COTN) is blessed to have her experience and passion leading us in this area. Cheryl just returned from Malawi and Uganda and is full of ideas. She sat down with me and answered some questions we all have about sustainable development.

Sharing Jesus through Film in Haiti

The backpack opens up like Mary Poppins' bag of tricks. Inside is a solar-powered projection system with everything Marc Antoine needs to show the JESUS film to the students: a screen, projector, and sound system.

Meet Our New Haiti Country Director

Marc Antoine Michel has been serving with COTN–Haiti since 2012, and has been our Haiti country director since last month. On a recent trip to the US, Marc Antoine sat down with me and shared the story of how God called him to give up his life to serve orphaned and impoverished children, and how he ended up at COTN.

Praising God Through the Best and the Worst: Darkin's Story

Every day after practice, the I Love Baseball (ILB) players heap their plates high with rice, beans, and meat. And almost every day, after he's served himself, Darkin walks over to ILB program director Ruddy Suero and asks if he can take his plate home, to share with his family. Ruddy always says yes, and Darkin tucks the food away to bring home to his mother and five siblings. Then the seven of them share his meal.
