I believe a tangible expression of God's love is felt through excellent medical care. As a nurse, follower of Jesus, and as a human being, I consider it every person's right to receive excellent medical care.
I am grateful, humbled, and just plain excited to now serve as the Physical Care Specialist for Children of the Nations! COTN strives to partner with the local people (nationals) of Sierra Leone, Malawi, Uganda, Haiti, and the Dominican Republic, to deliver quality, holistic care to orphaned and destitute children in need. My husband (who is also a nurse) and I have served as Global Volunteers with COTN since 2013, and we've spent roughly a year in Sierra Leone and also worked in Malawi and Uganda. Over this time we have seen children being given opportunity, given holistic care, and watched them flourish. It is beautiful and compelling.
My specific role will center on partnership with nationals to advocate for excellent medical and physical care for our children in all COTN countries. As a COTN family we pray, we labor, we give, we problem solve, and we partner to ensure our children have opportunities and experience God's love through the care they receive. It truly takes all of our strengths, talents, and resources, to care for these children. Thank you Lord for letting me be a part of this team and thank you dear supporters for joining hands in this family to accomplish this work. Our children are growing and they are transforming their nations.
