This boy comes from a family of 8 siblings. He is the sixth born in his family. He started at COTN school before any of the other kids in his family and from the beginning we sensed in him a great desire to learn. When asked what he wanted to be when he grew up his reply was always the same, “I want to be an engineer.” After hearing this, whenever we saw Albeline we would greet him by saying, “Hello Engineer Albeline” or “Hello Mr. Engineer.” Albeline focused on the goal of becoming an engineer. Often we would see him staring at a particular building or stretch of street and hear him talking about how he would repair that building or develop that street. Albeline believes in his dream, he lives it and he sees it. In his mind he is an engineer.
Albeline is an excellent student. Every year he wins the Student of the Year award at our school because he is so focused and thirsty for knowledge. He enjoys learning and never tires of his lessons.
In Spring of 2003 Albeline received Jesus Christ as his Savior. A short-term team member from New Community church in Spokane prayed with him. Later, when we asked him “Why did you receive Christ?” he told us it was because he knew the only way to reach his goal was by way of Jesus Christ and HIS Lordship over his life.
Today, Albeline is 17 years old and in 11th grade. We are praying he will realize his goals by the grace of God. His life changed from a boy who lived in a village without dreams to a boy who is now able to pursue his greatest hope and vision for life. This little life has come into focus not only because of finances in providing education for him, but also because of the words of love that introduced him to our Savior and words of love that affirmed his potential in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.
